Sebastian Müller – Haven’t Touched The Earth In A While: Ambient Reflections and Reconstructed Landscapes – Frequency State

Haven’t Touched The Earth In A While opens with a series of tight, delayed digital tones before piano and woodwind elements gradually join the arrangement. The sound remains minimal and melodic, leaning into ambient territory but with a distinctly composed feel. Close-mic’d textures cut through the atmosphere, adding intimacy to the piece while subtle layers build an evocative soundscape.

The track explores nature as an escapist fantasy, presenting reconstructed memories and simulations of natural sound through an acousmatic lens. By weaving synthetic tones with organic references, Müller creates a phantasmic space where familiar and unfamiliar elements coexist—placing the listener inside a shifting sonic landscape that questions our relationship with memory and the natural world.
