Most people wake up feeling refreshed in the morning after a good night’s rest because their body has completed all the sleep cycles necessary to rejuvenate their systems. Unfortunately, if you have sleep apnea, your breathing repeatedly stops and starts at night which interrupts your natural circadian rhythms. This prevents your body from completing all the processes needed to fully recover and recuperate, detracting from your daily quality of life.

For instance, Halloween is just around the corner, but if you’re drained from a lack of sleep, you might be struggling to get a costume together. Continue reading to learn 3 ideas to try if you’re feeling groggy!

Option #1: Modified Bed Sheet Ghost

If you’ve ever watched the 1966 animated film It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, or the 1988 horror/fantasy movie, Beetlejuice, then you likely are already familiar with one particular Halloween costume that has remained popular for generations: the bed sheet ghost. Whether you opt for a plain white cover or choose something with patterns and frills, all you have to do is make holes for your eyes and boom! You’re all set to haunt some unsuspecting humans.

If you prefer to keep your bedding in one piece, you can put on all white or all gray clothing for a more modern take on this cult classic.

Option #2: Regina George

Did you know that October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Pink ribbon campaigns and fundraisers abound this time of year to educate people about this condition and its risks. As a result, pink is as popular a shade as black or orange when celebrating the season.

You don’t even need a full costume if you have any garments of this shade in your closet because it’s also the color preferred by the infamous Mean Girl, Regina George. Although Halloween is on a Friday (not a Wednesday!) this year, you can raise awareness for a good cause and make a cheeky movie reference by donning a frock in this rosy hue.

Option #3: Best-Dressed

If you’ve struggled to get any sleep the night before your Halloween bash, you might not have any energy to do anything creative. You can try donning an old suit or dress that you like, but don’t often have a chance to wear, to lift your spirits. If anyone asks who or what you are supposed to be, simply reply “the best dressed!”

Thankfully, your sleep dentist can provide treatments to help address your disorder so you can participate in the festivities this fall.
